National Library Week!

Not only is April National Poetry Month (check back Thursday for more fun with poetry) but April 12-18 is National Library Week!  Woo Hoo!  National Library Week was first celebrated by the American Library Association (ALA) in 1958 and has been growing ever since.  It’s a great time to show your support of your school, parish, and state libraries!

Here in West Baton Rouge we not only support the community with our main branch in Port Allen but also through the outreach program where we go into local elementary and high schools to bring books to be checked out.  If it has been a while since you have visited the library this is an execellent week to come in and check out the progress we have made in updating the Teen area (with more changes coming soon!).  Exciting things are happening and we would love for you to be a part of it.  Hope to see you soon!
