Banned Books Week

BannedBooksWeek-website-image Every year in September, the American Library Association celebrates the freedom to read with Banned Books Week. From September 21-27th, libraries all over the United States celebrate by reading and promoting frequently challenged books, or books that have actually been banned in certain areas. We’ve provided a list of the top ten most frequently banned and challenged books of past decade under the cut. A lot of the books on the challenged or banned lists may surprise you because they’ve been staples of literature for so long or seem harmless in our eyes. If you’d like to know more about banned books week and what you can do to celebrate, please visit the official website at bannedbooksweek.org.
