Book Spotlight!

Today’s book spotlight is on The Raven Boys by: Maggie Stiefvater.

the raven boys maggie stiefvaterBlue Sargent is from a family of psychics. Everyone in her household can do something pertaining to divination–except her. So she finds it alarming when she sees the spirit of a Raven boy (a student at Aglionby, the local all-boys’ school for wealthy families) and even more alarming when she finds out it means this boy is going to die soon and that she might be the cause of it.

Gansey is a Raven Boy through and through. His family is so rich, it’s obscene and he tends to flaunt it. However, Gansey’s got more on his mind than most of the other boys at his school. He’s obsessed with things like ley lines, magic, and a mysterious Welsh nobleman named Glendower who has been dead for hundreds of years. With his three friends in tow, Gansey spends most of his time looking for these things so that he can grant himself one wish.

Interestingly enough, Gansey is also the boy that Blue knows is going to die soon. Against all odds, however, Blue finds herself entangled with Gansey and his Raven Boys. But what starts out as a simple search quickly turns into something much darker and deadlier than any of them could imagine.

The Raven Boys is a story about magic, adventure, and murder. But don’t expect everything to be wrapped by the end of the book. It’s the first in a new series by Maggie Stiefvater called The Raven Cycle. If you love paranormal mysteries, this is definitely the book for you.
