Six-Word Memoirs

There’s a lot going on in the world today; there’s a lot going on in your life. Think you could describe it all in six words? Take the challenge and write your six-word memoir, then illustrate your memoir using the supplies available at the library (in the YA area) or supplies you have at home. Or, if you’d like, you can post your six-word memoir below in the comments section.

The library would like to publish a book of all the six-word memoirs written by the West Baton Rouge Parish young adults. If you’d like to include your memoir, contact the library’s Youth Services Department.

Check out I Can’t Keep My Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous + Obscure from Smith magazine, edited by Rachel Fershleiser and Larry Smith. This book collects memoirs from hundreds of teenagers composed of six words, ranging from the humorous to inspiring and dramatic, and includes six-word autobiographies from popular teenage celebrities. On the library’s bookshelf now (YA 808.066 I CA)!
