The Featured Storytelling Event
October 15, 2011
8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Heroes’ Park is on Eighth Street Across from the West Baton Rouge Courthouse in Port Allen.
From beyond their graves in the dark of night, specters and ghouls rise to haunt the imaginations of all who dare listen to Rose Anne St. Romain’s bone chilling tales of “Grave Sights.” Beware. These literary horror stories of talking skulls, bold rats, and ghostly mansions are not for the fainthearted or for the very young.
Rose Anne St. Romain is an award winning “master storyteller” who regularly appears on Jimmy Buffett’s internet radio station (www.radiomargaritaville.com). She has been a featured performer at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival for sixteen years. Her audio CD collection of stories, Once Upon a Shoe, won a Parent’s Magazine award and her book, Moon’s Cloud Blanket, is a Louisiana Native American tale published by Pelican Publishing Company. Ms. St. Romain has presented storytelling concerts throughout the United States for National and International associations, and hundreds of schools and libraries.
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to occupy a spot on lawn in Heroes’ Park on Eighth Street. The Park is located between the West Baton Rouge Parish Council Building and the Library and across the street from the Parish Courthouse. If it rains, the event will be held inside the library.
The West Baton Rouge Parish Library is the sponsor of this free event. Call 342-7920 for more information.
